Josh Greenberg (PhD) is an associate professor in the School of Journalism and Communication at Carleton University. He is also cross-appointed in the Department of Sociology and is a research associate in the Emergency Communications Research Unit. His expertise is in public relations (issues, risk and crisis communication), social movements and the media, non-profit communication, surveillance, social media, and communication and health. His published research, on these and related topics, appears in numerous international journals and books.
Outside of his academic work Dr. Greenberg advises organizations in the business, government and non-profit sectors on issues, risk and crisis communication, strategic planning, and campaign development and evaluation. His most current project for The Public Health Agency of Canada focuses on emergency-risk communication for vulnerable populations.
